Program Description

Mercy University's B.S. in Accounting, with tracks like General Accounting (Financial, Taxation, Data Analytics) and Public Accounting, teaches core accounting principles, business concepts, ethics, and real-world application through VITA tax assistance and consulting projects. The 120-credit program, led by highly accomplished Accounting professionals, emphasizes hands-on learning, executive faculty, and pathways to advanced study.

The College’s 15-credit residency requirement in the major concentration of General Accounting must be met with 12 credits in Accounting (ACCT) courses numbered 250 or higher, excluding course and course, plus course Strategic Management (senior-level capstone course).

The major concentration in General Accounting meets the educational requirements for candidates applying to take the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) Examination. The major concentration in General Accounting does not meet the educational requirements for candidates applying to take the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Examination.
