Program Description

The Mathematics major strengthens logical thinking and quantitative skills. Students learn mathematical theories and applications that complement careers in science, engineering, and finance.

*Per New York State Education Department requirements, all students enrolled in a Bachelor of Science program must successfully complete 60 credits of Liberal Arts and Sciences coursework. If needed, students should use Open Elective credits to fulfill these requirements, beyond their General Education courses, and look for courses with the “LA” attribute when registering.

Note(s)

Mercy University’s 15-credit residency requirement in the major concentrations of mathematics, computer science or computer information systems must be satisfied by courses numbered 200 or above.

Mathematics majors who have not had their mathematics core requirement waived should complete course and course (rather than course) as part of their General Education requirements.
