Students who choose the major in Human Services must complete:

Human Services Core (30 credits)

  • course - Introduction to Social Work

  • course - Introduction to Counseling

  • course- Social Psychology

  • course - Foundations of Human Services; History, Professional Pathways, and Ethics

  • course - Social Welfare Policy/Services

  • course - Ethics & the Family OR course Medical Ethics OR course Managing Human Conflict I

  • course - Methodology Soc/Beh Sciences

  • course - Psychology of Crisis

  • course - Data Management in Behavioral Science

  • HMSV 400 - Capstone in Human Services: Big Problems – Action Research Seminar

Concentration (12 credits)

Students must complete one of the following concentrations:

  1. Substance Use and Recovery Concentration

  2. Gerontology and Aging Concentration

  3. Criminal Justice Leadership Concentration
