Description
This course builds on SOWK 342 - Social Welfare Policy and Services IÂ by providing students an opportunity to explore in-depth knowledge, values and skills that are required to identify social problems and to assess and influence communities, organizations and social policies that affect their clients' lives. The focus will be on locating dysfunctional structures, processes, and policies that create unjust and oppressive conditions and on developing strategies to influence change. Professional dilemmas or obstacles encountered in that pursuit will be examined.
