Description
This course builds upon the content from Pathopharmacology 1, examining pathophysiological mechanisms in selected human diseases, syndromes, and/or conditions and integrates related pharmacotherapeutics, establishing a biophysiological basis for understanding relevant clinical assessments, clinical manifestations, and disease trajectories. Manifestations of disease and alterations in select body systems are discussed, providing a foundation for establishing physiological priorities for nursing care. The presentation of each disease/disorder entity includes relevant risk factors, pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, and a brief review of treatment including pharmacologic therapies commonly used to manage the disease.
