Literature to Film

Description

This course is an investigation of some of the history, processes, and challenges of translating works of literature (plays, stories, novels, essays, poems) to the medium of film. Attention is directed toward social, psychological, philosophical and technical (aesthetic) aspects of literary texts and then to their screen adaptations. Representative films will be screened in full during some class meetings.
