Literature and Language - departmentSchool of Liberal Arts
Description
True stories utilize narrative devices to convey factual information about real people. Descriptive language and unique structures can elevate a life story artistically and dive deeply into an author/subject's history and community(ies). While memoir, essay, and biography have been traditionally associated with personal nonfiction, this course will also examine other formats of autobiographical and biographical storytelling such as: the biopic film; full-length or short documentary films; flash memoir; comic-strips/graphic novels; and/or podcasts.
