Course Description

This course provides students with a detailed study of the anatomy and physiology of the viscera and organ systems.  Specifically, students will achieve a strong working knowledge of the cardiovascular, pulmonary, renal, gastrointestinal, lymphatics and endocrine/reproductive systems.  Students will use light microscopy to identify important histological structures from all organ systems discussed in lecture.  General physiological principles and the mechanisms related to the maintenance of homeostasis will be emphasized, as well as the relation between molecular biology, gross and microscopic anatomic form and physiological function.
