Introduction to Bioinformatics

Description

This course introduces students to bioinformatics, including the knowledge and practical skills in analyzing biological sequences (DNA, RNA, and protein) and application of commonly used methods. Students will complete interactive bioinformatic labs to gain hands-on experience with contemporary concepts in bioinformatics in molecular biology, medical genetics, cell biology, and neuroscience. 3 credit lecture, 3 hrs. Pre-requisites: BIOL 160/160A, BIOL 161/161A and Math 116 or higher.
