Program Description

Immerse yourself in the study of people, culture and society. Learn about the key social factors that influence groups and organizations and develop skills in research and data analysis.

If you’re interested in the study of people, culture, and society, a career in sociology might be right for you. In this fascinating program, you’ll study: the basic structure of human society, transmission of culture and regulation of behavior, acquisition of the social self, deviance, stratification by class, race, ethnicity, sex, and age, urbanization, major social institutions, population dynamics, and socio-cultural change.

In addition to acquiring an in-depth understanding of the key social factors that affect groups and organizations, students will gain an understanding of basic research methods and develop critical reasoning skills.

Program Information

As of January 2026, this academic program will be discontinued and is no longer accepting applications from new students. Students currently enrolled in the program will not be disrupted and will be supported through the completion of their degree. We continue to offer a strong path for interest in this area through our program major. Students should contact their individual PACT mentor with any questions.
